The place is awake at 8am and the breakfast queue is long every day. Proud Mary is nestled in a warehouse-like landmark in Collingwood, not without huge windows and high ceilings. Inspired by owner Nolan Hirte, the staff and atmosphere here are buzzing with meticulous love for coffee. Hirte and Green Bean Buyer Lucy Ward source all of their coffee directly from the farmers. This is definitely a place where you’ll enjoy solid conversations about coffee and hear the story of the bean.

Auction Rooms is a spacious cafe with a charming courtyard, housed in the old WB Ellis Auction House. Consistently rated among Melbourne’s top coffee houses to be at, the cafe pulls delicious single origins of the day. One of our favourites is the Candyman blend by Small Batch. The cafe’s ambience is lively and eclectic, with many different coffee areas such as street seats, high stools at the bar, communal table, and a courtyard.
