5 Romantic Restaurants For Valentine’s Day In Bangkok

We all know that Bangkok has no lack of vibrant night markets, quaint cafes and crazy wholesale malls. But do you know that Bangkok has its fair share of classy romantic restaurants for that special occasion too?

#1. Vertigo at Banyan Tree Bangkok

We knew we had to visit this place when we saw the kind of view we could get here.

Standing on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel, the private lift will take you all the way up to the 60th floor where you’ll be led to a flight of stairs before you are introduced to this gorgeous open-air rooftop restaurant. It may not be the highest rooftop dining experience in Bangkok but it sure felt like it!

Dinner can be a little pricey so if you are not prepared to spend too much, hop over to the Moon Bar for some drinks instead 😉

Address: 21/100 South Sathon Road Sathon | Banyan Tree Bangkok, Bangkok 10120, Thailand
Opening hours: 5pm – 1am daily

#2. Sirroco at Lebua State Tower

You would probably recognize the golden dome from the “Hangover” movie. Yup, it’s right here in Bangkok!

The service we received at Sirroco was exceptional – right from the moment we stepped into the elevator. Not only were we offered a complimentary for my birthday (which can be an expected gesture at such establishments), we were also offered complimentary champagne when they had to shift us indoors when it started raining.

You are probably wondering.. so, Sirroco or Vertigo? While Vertigo has a stunning view of the city, Sirocco has an incredible view of the Chao Phraya river. This may not make a huge difference if you are planning to visit after sunset though!

Address: 1055/42 Silom Road,Silom,Bangrak | State Tower 63rd Floor, The Dome at Lebua, Bangkok 10500, Thailand
Opening hours: 6pm – 1am daily

#3. Dining In The Dark

Dining in total darkness – it’s a different kind of romantic dinner I would say!

As mobile phones are not allowed (in fact, anything that illuminates have to be kept in the locker), there’s really zero distraction during the whole course of the dinner. Trust me, you’ll have a much more meaningful conversation with your other half under such an environment.

Plus, this is for a really good cause because a part of the cost (1,450 baht++ per person) will be donated to the Foundation of the Blind. 🙂

Address: 250 Sukhumvit Rd., Khlong Toei, Khlong Toei | G Floor – Bar Su, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel
Opening hours: 6.30pm – 11pm (Tue to Sat)

#4. Aspara Dinner Cruise (by Banyan Tree)

There are many dinner cruises that go up and down the Chao Phraya River but we picked Aspara as it came highly recommended! It costs SGD 114 per pax but we were assured that the more intimate dining experience (and the food) will be worth it. Well, we were not disappointed.

While the other boats were much bigger, it also meant a lot more people and a lot more noise. Plus, food were served on buffet tables whereas ours were served individually (seats were pre-assigned too) and they were super delicious! The chef also made his rounds personally to make sure we were happy with our food, which we though was quite a nice gesture!

To book the tour: Viator

If you have a higher budget, you can also consider the Supanniga Cruise!

#5. Issaya Siamese Club

Since getting around has gotten a lot easier with Uber/Grab, we have been more adventurous in our dining options and Issaya Siamese Club was a hidden gem that we found! Set in an old colonial house with a huge beautiful garden, it’s especially charming at night when the house is lit up with soft warm lights. Perfect for a quiet romantic evening, especially if you had spent the entire day shopping (which I’m usually guilty of :x)

We have to say that it will be difficult to decide what to eat – especially if it’s just for the two of you – because most of the items in the menu sound irresistible. Solution? Opt for the tasting menu. You’ll be extremely full but at least you’ll be able to try a bit of (almost) everything!

Address: 4 Soi Sri Aksorn, Chue Ploeng | Thung Mahamek, Bangkok 10120
Opening hours: 11.30 am – 2.30 pm, 6pm – 10.30 pm (Daily)

With Valentine’s Day just round the corner, do try to make reservations if you’ve set your eye on any of the restaurants above. 🙂

My parents think I travel too much but if not now, then when? New experiences excite me the most and that's why I rarely visit the same city twice unless (a) they have awesome food and (b) they have awesome food.
