3 Must Try Restaurants in Tokyo for Crazy Beef Lovers

The first thing when people think of ‘Japan’, they think of its perfectly sliced sashimi and assortment of fresh seafood caught fresh from the ocean. But did you know that Japanese Wagyu with the word ‘Wagyu’ literally means ‘Japanese (wa)’ and ‘beef (gyu)’ is one of the most melt-watering experience you can get. Why? Because it contains more omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids than other beef, hence the more fat there is, the richer and more flavourful it will be. So here we list down 3 must try places in Tokyo if you are a meat lover.

Redrock Beef Bowl

Famous for its affordable but premium beef is what you will get in Redrock. And as all good things, you have to queue. So try to go at non-peak hours such as 3pm to 5pm. The regular portions cost less than 1000 yen! (SGD 12.50)

The place is small and pretty cramp and when you enter you will be greeted with this sign:

Some must trys are the Sliced Beef Steak (SGD13) that is so juicy and flavourful, one serving is simply just not enough.

Look at the egg on top and the tower of premium beef, you can’t even see the rice underneath it!

Yakiniku at Jojoen

If you want Yakiniku with premium meat and a stunning view, Jojoen is the place you should go.

Come for lunch as they have Yakiniku set lunches than ranges from 2000 Yen to 4000 Yen (SGD 24 – 48) and that is really affordable.

What’s more you will have a great view, Jojoen have many outlets but we recommend the Tokyo Opera City outlet as the view is amazing.

Hakushu Teppanyaki

Rated as the number 1 restaurant in Tripadvisor is this small humble restaurant that pride itself for quality Kobe beef. This restaurant have been running for 50 years and has been a hit for both tourists and locals. Don’t expect a fancy settling as the restaurant is pretty small, with about 20 seats but be rest assured that your steak will be done to perfection. Do note that they do not speak must English but you will have a great time making small conversation with the owner and his wife as they cook your steak!
