They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away but you know what is even better than that?
The anticipation of your next wanderlust travel destination.
The hype up excitement that stirs your emotions and keeps you motivated with something awesome to look forward to is what everyone is yearning for.
And here is TravelZombie’s part 1 of why travelling is most possibly the best medicine for you.
#1 You will become a more motivated person at work.
You catch yourself taking a quick peep at your daily calendar with the circled dates that written ‘on leave, going for a holiday :)’ and smile quietly to yourself, telling yourself that your next adventure is just a few days away. If this is not motivation i don’t know what is.
#2 You will appreciate your home and family more.
Being away from things we often take for granted — family, close friends, home — makes us appreciate them more. Calling home isn’t a chore, but something to look forward to as no one enjoys listening to your envy-inducing travel stories more than your parents, so it’s the perfect excuse to call them and indirectly tell them that you miss them.
#3 You become a more interesting person.
One common question that your friends will often ask is ‘so where are you travelling next?’ and with a travel destination at bay, you respond with excitement and tell your friends where you will be travelling next, with who and what new memories you are looking forward to creating. You come back from every adventure with more travel tips that belongs solely to you that you share freely with your closet friends. Remember, your happiness is infectious.
#4 You develop skills and talents you never had.
Sometimes it’s only far from home that you realize you you’ve got skills you’ve never used. It’s travel that brings them to the surface and makes you smile, satisfied to have reached the mountain top, or successfully finding your uber driver or finding a hidden cafe that is popular to the locals.
#5 You develop a stronger heart – yes literally.
You actually walked A WHOLE LOT while travelling- from walking around at famous attractions, to trying to locate a local cafe; to discovering a hidden beach. This promotes physical activity and increase your heart rate that is good for your overall health. According to a Framingham Heart Study, a landmark study that began in 1948 and spanned over the course of 20 years, women who vacationed only every six years or less were nearly eight times more likely to develop heart disease or have a heart attack compared to women who traveled at least twice a year.
