5 Things You Must Eat In Chatuchak Or Regret It

No Bangkok trip is complete without Chatuchak Market. It’s massive (even massive is not good enough a word to describe how crazily huge this place is) and you can never remember which part of market are you at because there are just too many shops, too many sois, too many distraction.

The surprising thing is – not everyone goes to Chatuchak to shop because there are so many delicious food stalls there that it’s worth that 70b taxi ride 😀

#1. Coconut ice cream

Everyone knows how humid and hot Chatuchak market can get and this is a god-sent. There are so many coconut ice cream stalls scattered all around the market so I did what all Singaporeans will do – follow the queue. This ‘Coco JJ’ stall is at the entrance of Section 2 (near the MRT exit) so it’s really easy to spot and you can choose a few toppings to go with your coconut ice cream at just 65b!

#2. Garlic Bread

This is my favorite! I didn’t even know it was popular when I first had it. I was so drawn to the smell of the freshly toasted garlic bread and have been hooked ever since. There are six flavors to choose from but if you are too full (which I’m sure you’ll be), go for the garlic flavor. The garlic butter isn’t overwhelming and the bread is so soft and chewy!

#3. Wanton Mee

Being a huge fan of the famous old Airport wanton mee, I had high expectations of this Chatuchak wanton mee. So, trust me when I say this is worth every single calorie because it’s really that good! The char siew is crispy on the edges and meat is flavorful, the noodles are springy and I don’t what spice they use for the wantons, we actually ordered an additional bowl of wanton soup just to share. P/S: I think this is way better than Pratunam Sabx2 wanton noodles too!

This was the first shop my friends headed to because their friends claim that this is one of the best roast pork they have ever tasted in their life. In case you are wondering if it’s true – it is. They sell it in small bags so just order a little and share among your group!

#5. Red Ruby

This is another one of the must-have in Chatuchak because their red rubies are just right. Some of the red rubies I tried in Singapore are too hard, and some just too .. red. This is just right! The chestnut is soft and crunchy and the jelly layer is soft and fragrant <3

Location: Section 26, in between Soi 1 & 2

My parents think I travel too much but if not now, then when? New experiences excite me the most and that's why I rarely visit the same city twice unless (a) they have awesome food and (b) they have awesome food.
