Australia is immensely popular with families and Singaporeans who just want to slow down and break away from the bustling cities like Hong Kong and Bangkok. With shops closing as early as 5pm, you’ll be forced (in a good way) to end your day early! Most importantly, Australia has soooo many beautiful sights (think Great Ocean Road in Melbourne and Blue Boat House at Perth) that will be perfect for photographs 😉

#1. Changi Wifi
Price: $12/day (first day rental is free)
To note: No data cap. Can connect up to 6 devices
With unlimited data, Changi Wifi router is perfect if you are travelling in groups or if you have multiple devices that need to be connected. The only drawback is that you’ll have to make sure the device is charged on a daily basis (or more) but honestly, this is a problem that portable chargers can easily solve. 😉

#2. Singtel ReadyRoam
Price: $12/month (9 cities), $20/month (16 cities), $35/month (31 cities)
To note: Valid for Singtel customers only. Can be applied via MySingTel appThis is a godsend for Sintel customers – especially if you travel a lot. The cheapest plan allows you to travel to 9 cities (including Australia, Thailand and Malaysia) and share the 1GB plan among them. But we know, 1GB is not a lot of data. The good news is that every 1GB data will be charged accordingly to its respective plan. For e.g. if the plan costs $12/month for 1GB data, you will be charged $12 x 2 for 2GB data in the same month.

#3. Changi Recommends SIM Card
Unfortunately as of July 2017, there is no option to purchase SIM cards with Australia data from Changi Recommends. There are only SIM card options for Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Phillippines and New Zealand at the moment.

#4. Australia Data SIM Card (purchase from Australia)
Price: From AU $10 for 1GB data
If you are not in a hurry to be connected, you can also easily purchase SIM cards from supermarkets and convenience stores once you arrive in Australia. However, if you compare the prices, you would realize that Singtel Readyroam actually offers very competitive pricing. Moveover, there’s no need to change the SIM card in your phone. 🙂
