#1. iTaiwan (Free WI-FI for tourists!)

If you don’t need to be connected at all corners of Taiwan and just need that connection so you can upload your Instagram stories and update your loved ones via Whatsapp, this is perfect for you. All you have to do is to sign up here and show your passport at the Taiwan tourist centre counter at the airport to get the necessary information to be connected!

#2. Get a Taiwan SIM card – From SGD14

Need to be connected anywhere and everywhere with no cap on data? You are better off with a Taiwan SIM card then! Chunghwa Telecom is one of the more renowned telcos in Taiwan and you can easily find their counters in Taoyuan Airport arrival hall.

  • 3-Day Plan: NT$ 300
  • 5-Day Plan: NT$ 300 (with NT$50 credit for voice) / NT $500 (with NT$ 300 credit for voice)
  • 7-Day Plan: NT$ 500 (with NT$150 credit for voice)
  • 10-Day Plan: NT$ 3500 (with NT$100 credit for voice)

Apart from unlimited data, you can enjoy free Wi-Fi at over 50,000 hotspots across Taiwan so you are pretty much covered. If you are hiring a driver for your roadtrips, you’ll appreciate the credit for voice calls 🙂

#3. Rent a WI-FI router – Fr $5/day

This is perfect if you are travelling in a big group. Especialy if you need to connected at most places but don’t need to be connected 24/7. Changi Recommends waives off rental fee for the first day so you’ll just have to pay $5x$5=$25 for a 6-day trip! Because you can connect up to 6 devices, it will just be $25/6=$4.20 per person to stay connected for 6 days!

You get to enjoy unlimited data and you can be connected the moment your plane lands. But do reserve early because you won’t want to blame yourself if they ever run out of devices during your travel dates!

Cons: Wi-fi router has a maximum battery life of 6 hours so you’ll need to charge it daily
