Hanging out with floofy cats at Neko Cat Cafe Phuket

The space & drinks

Neko Cat Cafe is so so clean and comfy. The aircon is a nice respite from the crazy Phuket afternoon sun! Inside, you sit on soft sofa and cushions on the floor. Feels like visiting a friends home! The coffee choices are delicious, so are the orange juices and hey, check out this fancy drink.

The cats, of course

“Come on in! Play with us!” Even myself, being slightly allergic to cats, couldn’t resist stepping into the cat cafe! Warm and welcoming, the owner is from Italy (we perceived so from his accent – so do try that Tiramisu or Italian soda) and he made us feel at home. My friend has a bit of a phobia of cats, but she eased in well and eventually made friends with a shy cat!

There are nine cats in the play room for public, and the owner explains there are more cats in their backyard/room. Every morning the owner will open the cat door, and if one of the nine cats do not feel like mingling, it will not walk out of the door. Then perhaps other cats can volunteer to enter the cafe, allowing the anti-social cat to rest for the day. How sweet!

When we were at Neko Cat Cafe Phuket, all nine cats are out at the cafe. Some playing, some lazing on boxes nailed high on the wall, some sleeping in furry baskets. There are pictures of them on the wall, each telling the unique personalities and birthdays of the cats.

Feeding time… Isn’t this the cutest?!

Entry is free! Just buy a drink and sit around with the cutest fluff all day long. Even if you’re not here for the cats (gasp!) the coffee is probably one of the best around Phuket!
